Specialty Internships for the Environment Protection
Field work related to the specialty Ecology represents the follow-up on laboratory work in natural conditions. Based on the content, they are divided in specific field work, that studies each natural component and complex field work, which focuses on the interaction between the natural components.

The curriculum provides that specific field work is carried out during the 1st year (Initial specialty internship) and during the 2nd year (Specialty internship). The pre-final exam internship planned for the 3rd year aims to offer students the opportunity to work out their thesis under the guidance of scientific coordinators.

The initial internship for the Ecology specialty has the goal to develop general skills of the students in this relevant area of study, to familiarize the students with specifics of natural ecosystems and the specifics of the degraded ecosystems, with the most current environmental issues of the Republic of Moldova. During the internship, trips are anticipated to various institutions for scientific research, labs and organizations dealing with environment protection issues, as well as to state environmental agencies where the students will have the opportunity to perform yearly papers, theses, or, further, to be employed.

Specialty internship for Ecology is performed within the labs of the Faculty, within the Institute for Ecology and Geography of the ASM and other subdivisions of ASM in the above-mentioned field, depending on the area of study chosen. The internship is carried out under the guidance of the person in charge with internships in conjunction with the scientific coordinator who participates in the evaluation of yearly work papers topics, in identifying and working out the goals and objectives of yearly research papers, in planning experiments and analysis of methodology of research. Upon completion of specialty internship, the student shall provide a report to the Department that would cover an outline of the current status of the relevant field, would identify an issue to be settled and the tools of settlement with some applied features.

The pre-final exam internship for Ecology has the goal to offer students the opportunity to finalize the experiments initiated during the specialty internship and carried out during the years of study as individual activities. Over the course of this period, the student works on an individual basis being guided by the thesis coordinator. The acquired experience will allow the students to set some well-defined objectives focused on modern-day issues, to develop tasks and means to implement them, necessary methods for investigation and the social and economic impact.

Specialty Internships for Geography
Field work, within the Geography specialty, aims at building on the knowledge acquired during the courses, seminars and practical work, with a view to combining the theory with the geographical reality of various regions of the country.

By content, they are divided in specific field work, that is focused on each natural component and complex field work, which focuses on the interaction between natural components and various sectors of national economy. Thus, during the field work, students visit some historical sites, geographical sites and places of scientific and teaching interest (research institutes, botanical gardens, arboreta, history museums, ethnographical museums), as well as economic places of interest.

In the curricula, specific field work is planned for the 1st year of study (Initial internship) and the 2nd year (Specialty internship). The pre-final exams Internship anticipated to occur during the 3rd year of study aims at providing the students with the opportunity to work out the theses under the guidance of scientific coordinators.

Initial internship for the Geography specialty aims at developing general skills in the relevant field of study, at familiarizing students with specifics of geographical systems, with the most current geographical issues in Republic of Moldova. Over the course of internship, trips to various scientific research institutions are anticipate, to labs and organizations dealing with applicative issues related to the field of geography (meteorology, climatology, agro-meteorology, hydrology, geology, geomorphology, geography of tourism, as well as within the subdivisions of State Hydro-meteorological Service, in which the students will have the opportunity to perform their yearly projects, theses or, eventually, to be employed.

The Geography specialty internship is carried out at the premises of laboratories of the department, the Laboratories of the Institute for Environment Protection and Geography of ASM, Institute for Geology and Seismology of ASM and other institutions related to the field depending on the chosen area.  The internship is carried out under the guidance of the person in charge with internships, in conjunction with the scientific coordinator who participates in the evaluation of topics for the students yearly work papers, in identifying and working out the goals and objectives of research, in planning experiments and analyzing the research methodology.  Upon finalizing the specialty internship, the student shall provide a report to the department that covers an outline of the current status of the relevant field, identification of an issue to be settled and the mechanisms of settling of the issue of applicative type.

The pre-final exam internship for Geography aims at providing the student with the opportunity to finalize his/her experiments initiated during the specialty internship and which were carried out over the course of training within the individual activities.  At this point the student does individual work being guided by the thesis coordinator. The acquired experience shall allow him/her to establish some well-determined objectives focused on modern day issues, to work out tasks and ways to implement them, necessary investigation methods and the social and economic impact.
