Admissions Information

Admissions calendar

Enrollment in doctoral and postdoctoral programs is done in September – October, according to the Regulation on the Organization of Doctoral and Postdoctoral Studies, approved by Government Decision no. 173 of 18.02.08.

Submission of applications for participation in the competition 16 – 31 July
Announcement of provisional results by 3 August
Submission of original documents to institution of choice by 7 August
Announcement of final results by 10 August
Competition second round (for vacant places)  
Submission of applications for participation in the competition 12 – 14 August
Announcement of provisional results by 17 August
Submission of original documents to institution of choice by 19 August
Announcement of final results by 20 August

Admissions procedure

To be eligible to participate in the competition, candidates must have an average mark for the years of study of no less than 8.0 and the specialty mark of at least 9.0.

  • For doctoral part-time programs, only candidates working for educational institutions or institutions in the field of science and innovation may apply.
  • For full-time programs with budget financing the candidates’ age limit is 35 years.
  • Citizens of other countries and stateless persons shall enroll in studies on a contract basis.
  • Foreign citizens (except Romanian citizens) and stateless persons will be enrolled in studies after the completion of preparation courses and the approval of educational documents obtained abroad by the Ministry of Education of the Republic of Moldova.
  • Candidates fluent in the instruction language at enrollment will only take the language test without the completion of preparation courses.

Tuition fee for contract-based doctorate:
(established by Government Decree no. 1532 of 29.12.2007)

  • 6,000 lei (doctoral supervisor holding a scientific doctor degree)
  • 8,000 lei (doctoral supervisor holding a scientific habilitation degree)
  • 9,500 lei (doctoral supervisor holding an honorary degree of academic/ corresponding member)
  • For foreign citizens:
  • 12,000 lei (doctoral supervisor holding a scientific doctor degree)
  • 16,000 lei (doctoral supervisor holding a scientific habilitation degree)
  • 19,000 lei (doctoral supervisor holding an honorary degree of academic/ corresponding member)

Required application documents:

 

Pentru admitere la doctorat

  • higher education diploma (Bachelor’s, Master’s, residency, clinical internship) and transcript (original and copy); Bachelor’s degree diploma is valid only for candidates who have completed pre-Bologna studies
  • copy of published scientific works (patents), at least 2, or a scientific paper (7 – 10 pages long), with a topic from the chosen specialty
  • extract from the minutes of the meeting of the Scientific Council of the faculty/institution  confirming the candidate ‘s recommendation to the doctorate or recommendations from two specialists in the field that hold academic degrees
  • curriculum vitae
  • ID copy
  • certified employment record book extract
  • 3 pictures ¾

Additional documents for international students’ files:

  • national passport copy valid at least for one year
  • declaration of value for educational documents issued by the Ministry of Education of the citizen’s country of origin (confirmation of authenticity of educational documents, length of studies, academic and professional value of the document on studies, grading system description)
  • bank certificate confirming the availability of credit for the period of study
  • criminal record

For admission to postdoctoral programs:

  • doctoral diploma (original and copy)
  • confirmed list of scientific works, patents granted after the defending of the doctoral thesis, constituting at least 2/3 of the habilitation thesis
  • decision of admission to a postdoctoral program by university senate/ scientific council of the institution providing the doctorate program confirming the candidate ‘s recommendation to the postdoctorate
  • copy of the employment record book confirming activity at a higher education/research and innovation institution
  • curriculum vitae
  • ID copy
  • 3 pictures ¾

Additional documents for international students’ files:
