University Centre for Functional Genetics

The University Centre of Functional Genetics (CFG) was created under the auspices of the University of the Academy of Sciences of Moldova by the Decision of the Supreme Council for Science and Technological Development of ASM, no. 38 of 26 March 2009. The Centre holds an accreditation in Functional genetics and bioinformatics from the National Council for Accreditation and Attestation of the Republic of Moldova (certificate series 1, no. 028, Decision no. AC-2/3, Chisinau, 24 March 2011).

Within the CMB operate three research groups: Bioinformatics, Genomics, and Proteomics.

ACTIVITIES

  • Fundamental and applied research (functional genetics, genomic imprinting, molecular screening, etc.).
  • Development and maintenance of scientific potential through active participation in training and retraining of highly qualified staff for the needs of contemporary science and higher education.
  • Providing services through research contracts with internal and external financing.
