On 11th of February, 2016 a videoconference on: VARIABILITY AND TENDENCIES OF CLIMATE EVOLUTION ON THE MOLDOVA TERRITORY ON THE WEST AND EAST OF PRUT was conducted online for the students, master students, doctoral students and professors of the Faculty of Natural Sciences of the University of the Academy of Sciences of Moldova and students of the Faculty of History and Geography, University "Stefan cel Mare" of Suceava, Romania, under the "Invited Professors Program" developed by the UnASM.
A wide and deep study on this topic was presented by Dumitru MIHAILA, Professor, Dr., Assoc. Prof., Department of History and Geography, University "Stefan cel Mare" of Suceava, Romania.
In the video-conference were described the latest data on the factors that determine variability and climate evolution tendencies on the Moldova territory on the west and east of Prut, as well as modern methods of monitoring, collection and analysis of data, accompanied by arguments of these climatic fluctuations on this territory.
Mr. Dumitru MIHAILA showed the climate evolution over the last 18000 years on the territory of Moldova, on both sides of the Prut, giving the arguments of cosmic, telluric and anthropogenic factors.
Also, he had focused his attention on the details regarding the current climate state of this territory, as well as on the oscillations and climate change scenarios for the XXI century. A special emphasis was put on the consequences of climate variability for the environment and society, pointing the potential weather-climatic risks.
There actively interacted several videoconference participants: students, PhD students and professors.
