Upon completion of courses of Cycle I the graduates will acquire the following:

  • classification of chemistry compounds by their properties, the preparation way and the area of their use;

  • recognition of classes of compounds and individual substances by their properties;
  • identification and analysis of chemical substances via various methods;
  • synthesis and processing of chemical compounds;
  • modeling of real systems and the analysis of various processes performed as part of these systems;
  • getting awareness about the effects of chemical industry on the environment;

Skills specific for Physics

  • work out the basic notions for physics;
  • apply classical models in solving problems;
  • define ideas underlying the methods of problem solving;
  • describe possibilities to develop various physics statements for the main problems that serve as models of processes, from economics, evolution, etc
  • perform a complex project for modeling a real process, simulating it with the help of the computer;
  • select and apply various test-problems to the checking of the developed algorithm;
  • interpret solutions of the physics model of a real problem within the terms of the practical field and develop recommendations;
  • apply advanced numeric methods for solving physics problems;
  • establish criteria for evaluation of various types of models and methods for solving;
  • work out new physics methods and apply their principles to the research of various problems from the areas of economy, biology, environment protection etc;
  • develop algorithms for solving applied problems from various areas;
  • interpret the solution of physics model of one real problem in terms of  practical area and develop recommendations for decision-makers.
