On July 2, 2015 as part of the activities dedicated to the 10th International Congress of Genetics and Breeders of the Republic of Moldova a public seminar entitled “Вавиловская коллекция мировых генетических ресурсов культурных растений – основа продовольственной безопасности России” (Vavilov collection of world crop plant genetic resources – the basis of the food security of Russia) held by the General Director of Institute of Plant Research of Russian Federation “N. I. Vavilov”, Sankt-Petersburg, Prof. dr. hab. Nicolai I. Dziubenko. During this seminar there have been discussed issues related to genetic resources of crop plants as a basis of food security of Russia. Thus, within this seminar, numerous discussions with Professor Dziubenko have been held, showing the high interest of the attendees in the above-mentioned topic.
