Upon graduating courses of Cycle I the graduates shall acquire the following general skills:

• evaluate the importance of achievements of mathematics and computer science for the society
• know, select and apply the ways of self-learning in the area of mathematics, computer science and related areas
• highlight the main trends of development of modern-day mathematics and computer science
• know the modern- day trends and understand the prospects for development in the area

Specific skills

• scientifically analyze theoretical problems and applied problems of mathematics and computer science and work out well-justified conclusions
• apply, on a practical level, the knowledge acquired for developing of ideas, concepts, models
• perform experiments with a view to promote and transfer of obtained achievements to various sectors of work
• develop self-learning skills
• apply ICT.

Upon finalizing the courses under Cycle II, graduates shall acquire the following general skills:

• justify the use of various outputs of computer science for various areas of research
• design and implement projects for scientific research
• acquire and apply the necessary knowledge by area
• understand how to select various methods of research
• apply knowledge from computer science into practice
• use the recent outputs for research
• use adequate methods for data recording as well as work out outputs and conclusions on the investigations performed.

Specific skills

• evaluate the importance of achievements of mathematics and computer science for society
• know the modern-day trends and understand the prospects of development in this field
• analyze from a scientific standpoint the theoretical and applied problems of computer science and work out well-justified conclusions
• be able to navigate through the information flow, able to select the sources that would meet the needs, develop abilities for self-study
• practically apply the acquired knowledge into soft development, concept and model development
• perform experiments with a view to promote and transfer the acquired achievements into various sectors of work
